Privacy Policy
What EnergyIQ collects, why, how long we keep it, the consent choices you control and how to ask for access or deletion — in plain language.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy explains how EnergyIQ handles information collected through this website, the EnergyIQ application and any energy monitoring equipment you choose to connect to it.
It is written as a plain-language description of our current practice. It is not legal advice, and it does not assert any certification, audit outcome or regulatory approval. Where you have a signed service agreement with us, that agreement governs in the event of a conflict.
2. What we collect
Account information — name, email address, phone number where you provide it, property addresses you add, and your role (owner, installer, administrator).
Property and assessment information — the details you submit in the simulator, financing calculator or assessment request, such as property size, construction period, heating type and current consumption.
Energy monitoring data — where you authorise a connection: solar production, battery charge and discharge, state of charge and health, grid import and export, total consumption, circuit-level readings where a metering kit is installed, device status and error codes.
Technical information — basic logs needed to operate and secure the service, such as timestamps, device identifiers, and error records.
Optional analytics — aggregate usage statistics about how the app is used, only where you have opted in.
3. Why we process it
- To create and operate your account and show your energy data.
- To produce indicative estimates, recommendations and proposals you request.
- To provide support, diagnose faults and maintain system health.
- To meet contractual, warranty and accounting obligations.
- To send product updates or marketing, only where you have given a separate opt-in consent.
4. Your consent choices
Monitoring data is processed to deliver the service you have asked for. If you do not want it processed, you can disconnect the device or close the account; the monitoring features stop working without it.
Device authorisation is explicit. A connection to your inverter, battery, meter or gateway is only established after you or your installer authorise it. Authorised devices are listed in your account and can be revoked, which stops further collection from that device.
Optional analytics and marketing are separate, opt-in choices, presented independently of each other. Declining or later withdrawing them does not affect your monitoring service. You can change these choices in your account settings or by contacting us.
Withdrawing a consent applies going forward. It does not undo processing that already happened lawfully before the withdrawal.
5. Security approach
EnergyIQ is designed to transmit data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and to store it in managed cloud infrastructure that provides encryption at rest, access controls and authenticated access per user.
Access within our team is limited to what is needed to operate and support the service. Installer access is scoped to the systems they are assigned.
We describe this as our intended security architecture. No online service can be guaranteed absolutely secure, and we make no certification or compliance claims on this page.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We use service providers to run the platform — for example cloud hosting, database, email delivery and error monitoring — who process data on our instructions. Where your equipment manufacturer's cloud service is part of the integration, data necessarily passes through that manufacturer's platform under their own terms.
We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of the service.
7. Retention
Detailed high-resolution readings are retained for a limited period and then summarised into longer-term aggregates, so historical trends remain available without keeping every raw sample indefinitely.
Account and contractual records are retained for as long as the relationship is active and afterwards only where needed for warranty, accounting or legal reasons. Retention periods may change as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here.
8. Access, correction and deletion
You can request a copy of your account and energy data, ask us to correct inaccurate details, or request deletion of your account and associated data.
We handle requests case by case and will tell you clearly if something must be retained — for example records tied to an active contract, an installed system's warranty, or accounting obligations — and for how long.
Send requests to hello@energyiq.example. We aim to respond promptly and will confirm what we can and cannot action.
9. Children
The service is intended for property owners and professionals, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product changes. The version shown here is the current one; significant changes will be communicated to account holders.
